February is generally the month when the clergy of Great Britain leave their flocks for a week to undergo their annual retreat. Although it is but weekday Masses that are impacted, it may, nonetheless, seem odd to leave the pasto-ral care of the laity, even for a week, to indulge in spiritual exercises. This month’s main arti-cle, however, shows well the results of a clergy that devotes itself merely to ‘doing things’. I hope that all our faithful will support us during that week by their prayers and sacrifices that we return to our duties with a renewed spirit of prayer and devotion. This month also sees the start of Holy Face devotions in Glasgow.
