Hi Father,



John and I started walking from Wallsend in Newcastle bright and early at 7.30am this morning. We've seen little in the way of Roman ruins so far, but plenty of Geordie kind-heartedness. From the husband and wife couple who sold us our sausage sandwich breakfast to the pleasant dog walkers along the route, we've been wished we'll by all and sundry! So far the weather has held for us but this afternoon looks like it could prove a little penitential!
