Bishop Fellay requests prayers for the General Chapter

Message to members of the SSPX

Statutory Prayers

Since the convocation of the Chapter, the Superior General has requested daily prayers in our houses in accordance with the Rules of the General Chapter, No. 8:

"From the convocation of the General Chapter to its closing, special prayers will be offered throughout the Society, to implore on its labours the light of the Holy Ghost, the protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the intercession of St. Pius X. "

 

These prayers are the Veni Sancte Spiritus, followed by invocations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Pius X.

Additional Prayers 

In order to intensify the persevering prayer of all, Bishop Fellay with his Council asks that a preparatory Novena for the Chapter be held from 2nd - 10th July 2018.

We will sing the Veni creator followed by the prayer Sub tuum praesidium.

 

Finally, as was the case in previous chapters, a day of fasting and abstinence is called in all our houses on Friday, 6th July 2018. The members of the Third Order (and all the faithful)  are invited to join in with these prayers.
