Archbishop Lefebvre was called to God on 25th March 1991 and his body has rested in the mausoleum of the seminary since the day of his funeral on 2nd April 1991.

At the General Chapter of 2018 a motion was passed to request the Superior General to translate the Archbishop's mortal remains from the mausoleum to the crypt of the seminary Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in order to facilitate the visitation of his tomb and to honour the founder of the Society of St. Pius X.
